Pennsylvania Avenue Memo

State CENTCOM warned before Iraq war about lack of plans for post-war Iraq security

I almost can't bring myself to post about yet another document showing that this fucked up war was favored by the Cheney administration since 2000 and earlier. From the maps used at the "energy summit", where Cheney and friends had noted where key Iraq oil fields and industry buildings were located (as seen on NOW with Bill Moyers,) to this latest set of "Pentagon" papers showing these chickenhawks couldn't wait to toss our military into a shit storm with slim chance of success if everything and every decision was right.

They were poorly equipped, there wasn't enough of them, the mix of fighting versus policing types of troops was non-existant -- they were set-up. They were set-up, and these bastards deserve the shame and derision that future generations will heap upon them.

"Newly declassified State Department documents show that government experts warned the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) in early 2003 about 'serious planning gaps for post-conflict public security and humanitarian assistance,' well before Operation Iraqi Freedom began."
