I've posted before the Iraq war is another Vietnam, but I've only thought of it that way in terms of planning and outcome. There was no plan to win the peace, and thanks to the colossal screw-ups by the administration, a military victory quickly became impossible.
The only hope now is some kind of political miracle; but this news so saddens me I'm having trouble finding the will to look for such hope.
"A U.S. Army staff sergeant was charged with murdering his two commanders last week at a base outside Baghdad, the military said Thursday.
It is believed to be the first case of an American soldier in Iraq accused of killing his superiors."
