FauxNews Slumping?

News Hounds: Fox News in Ratings Free Fall

"TV Newser cited a CNN press release which gave these totals for Fox's primetime audience in the 25 to 54 age bracket: Oct. 04: 1,074,000; Nov. 04: 891,000; Dec. 04: 568,000; Jan. 05: 564,000; Feb. 05: 520,000; March 05: 498,000; April 05: 445,000. That amounts to a decline of 58 percent, with no sign of leveling off."

I don't know what to think about this one. If this a real trend, along with Bush's cratering popularity, what are we to believe is behind it? Did someone surreptitiously dump reality pills in the nation's water supply?

It's hard to believe the same people who continue to elect knuckle-draggers like Santorum and Bush are now saying to themselves: "Hey, wait a minute! These guys don't have my self-interest in mind. I thought the party that brought me the greatest transfer of wealth from the middle class to the wealthy while running up the biggest budget deficits in history were on MY side!"

And what kind of epiphany had to occur that would swing a viewer from "I love Bill "Falafel" O'Reilly!" to smacking themselves on the forehead and exclaiming, "Holy cow! My hero is a Morton Downey, Jr. clone with a God complex! The guy who 'saved Christmas', said he never tells anyone to shut up when he's losing a debate, and attacked the son of a 9/11 victim is really just a self-aggrandizing blow-hard."

The article points out that all the 24x7 runaway bride channels ratings have declined since the election ended, but claim CNN is stabilizing while FauxNews is in freefall.

Maybe I'll just go with it and have faith that my countrymen have wised up to the Noise Machine and found the lack of body armor in Iraq, National ID "papers please" federal law, and Credit Card Companies Welfare Act a little too much to bear.

I hope so.. my Wellbutrin prescription is running out.
