Reach Out and Bug Someone

For the members of RightWingNuttia who see nothing wrong massive domestic spying, ask yourself this:

What, exactly, do you suppose the point of it is? Before 9/11, the NSA already did so much legal wiretapping of foreign agents that miles of audio tape is sitting around, never to be translated. The FBI says 99% of the leads they are getting from the NSA's domestic spying lead nowhere and waste valuable manpower.

So what exactly do you think the Cheney administration is gaining by spying on Quakers, peaceniks, animal lovers, and indiscriminate "mining" of the great unwashed?

This couldn't be political, could it?

"The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) filed a class-action lawsuit against AT&T Tuesday, accusing the telecom giant of violating the law and the privacy of its customers by collaborating with the National Security Agency (NSA) in its massive and illegal program to wiretap and data-mine Americans’ communications."

This Modern World: Interesting
