Because Ford Has Enough Problems

This movement by Christian hate groups to pressure companies to discriminate against gays (see Disneyland, Microsoft) makes absolutely no sense.

Corporations are entities with no values whatsoever. They care only about the dollar. The religious zealots' threats to boycott should not sway them in the least. At best, a few good ol' boys refusing to buy a Focus would be evened out by cars bought through gay-oriented magazine ads.

Ford caving to this nonsense, however, really could cause a backlash in the majority of people in the middle. Hell, has Bill Ford checked his sales numbers, lately? People are obviously needing few excuses to take a pass on his cars.

Even today I heard some news story about how Ford will no longer market to gays. I bet I'll never hear the following on corporate media:

AMERICAblog: Because a great nation deserves the truth

"The Ford Motor Company today released the following letter (below) clarifying that whatever did or did not happen behind closed doors with the American Family Association (AFA) two weeks ago, the company is NOT backing off of its support for the gay community or gay advertising (in contrast to what was reported over the past two weeks)."
