I don't see the Republican angle here, other than quite a few wealthy people probably have pensions, too. Democrats have been bitching about the underfunded pensions for years, but this article only talks about Republicans seeking to help.
Might be the typical, lazy MSM reporting on Republican fed talking points. Whatever the case, if Congress actually gets off their ass and changes pension-funding rules for the better, we will all win a small victory.
