American Media Humiliation - Part I

Sunday, May 1, 2005, The Times of London first printed the Downing Street Memo. This document, no matter how RightWingNuttia spins it, proves Bush lied when he claimed war was a last option. We now know the Bushies had already decided to go to war in the middle of 2002, then lied to us about it for months.

Think about that, and recall when you finally heard about it in the corporate media. Weeks later, if at all. In fact, most Americans probably first heard of the DSM last week when a journalist brought it up at the Bush/Blair press conference.
Shameful, and simply more evidence of the dilapidated state of American media.

Bush and his band of bumblers have partnered with a lazy press corps, in a game of "run out the clock." Certainly the easily distracted public would forget about the DSM, particularly if most of us never bring it up in the first place.

It won't happen, chickenhawks. And it's about to get much worse.
