Bush, Cheney and Rummy are the trifecta of douchebags. The same assholes that brought you Crusade 2003 are now dumping our disabled soldiers on the cheap.
It's consistent with their views on the ordinary disabled and poor, but it is still breathtaking to see the lack of shame from an administration that exploited our military at every opportunity to censor negative publicity, and yet casually deny livable benefits to the wounded vets once they return home.
Why does 49% of the damn country, including the military, not see such bullshit for what it is and vote Democrat? I can only imagine it's the combination of media whores, right-wing radio blowhards, and the ease of willful ignorance.
Taking Care of Our Veterans
"The Army decided that Twohig's disability is less than thirty percent. This means that he will get a 12,000 dollar taxable retirement benefit and health care through the Veterans' Administration, while his family gets no health care coverage. If his disability had equalled or exceeded thirty percent, he would have been entitled to a monthly retirement check and family health care coverage."
