A quick note...
I've been to 2 movies this year where the audience stood up at the end and applauded. The first was Fahrenheit 9/11, which didn't surprise me because I had read many reports of applause in screenings all over America.
Last night, however, I caught a late screening of a film I'd wanted to see since I first saw the preview: Napoleon Dynamite. (Okay, the website is over-the-top to me.)
I hadn't heard a lot of "buzz" in my circles; but I was surprised to find a packed house at the last showing on a Tuesday night. Overhearing their conversations, it was apparent many of them were back for a second or third viewing.
I thought it was damn good. Highly recommended.
